The UV-25X4 is built for operators who want access to the 1.25-meter band without paying premium prices for a purpose-built unit. It transmits on 144, 220, and 430 MHz at up to 25 watts, and dual-watch monitoring lets it scan across multiple channels simultaneously, including mixing bands. The RJ45 microphone port accepts a K1 audio adapter, which opens access to a broad aftermarket catalog of hand mics and speaker mics rather than locking the operator into a proprietary accessory ecosystem.

Mounting hardware ships in the box, and the radio can convert to a bench or base station role when paired with an external 13.8V regulated power supply.
