The critical differentiator is electrical length. The Nagoya operates at 0.60 wavelengths on GMRS, delivering realistic performance around 3.1 dBi. The ABBREE, despite its 42.5-inch length, stretches to 1.68 wavelengths at 465 MHz, putting it into a compromised multi-wavelength regime with actual gain near -1.0 dBi. The ABBREE's 5 dBi claim is overstated by roughly 6 dB and unsupported by its physical design. Longer is not better when it means operating far from an optimal electrical length.
