Nagoya NA-771G (GMRS)

If your handheld is a GMRS radio, the GMRS-tuned NA-771G is a better match than the standard dual-band NA-771. Same build quality, frequencies that line up with the GMRS band.

Decision helper

Is this antenna right for you?

Yes, if you're…

  • GMRS handhelds with SMA-Female jacks
  • Crossover ham and GMRS users

Skip it, if you're…

  • Pure 2m/70cm ham use (get the standard NA-771)

The good and the bad

What we like

  • Tuned specifically for the GMRS band
  • Better range than a stock GMRS antenna
  • Flexible and durable Nagoya build

What we don't

  • Optimized for GMRS, not a do-everything dual-bander
  • Long at 15.3 inches

Overview

The NA-771G is the GMRS-tuned sibling of the NA-771. It uses the same flexible build, but the element is cut for the GMRS frequencies around 462 to 467 MHz rather than the broad ham 2m/70cm range.

For a GMRS radio, that targeted tuning gives better performance than a generic dual-band whip. It carries an SMA-Female connector to fit Baofeng-style GMRS handhelds.
