The Radtel RT-920 is aimed squarely at budget-conscious Technician and General class operators who want a versatile shack-companion or go-bag radio without committing to a three-figure spend. Its broad receive coverage spanning LW, MW, SW, CB, VHF, and UHF makes it an appealing single-device solution for operators who monitor widely and transmit on the ham bands.
Eight watts on VHF/UHF gives the RT-920 a respectable output ceiling for a radio in this class, and 960 memory channels is genuinely generous, leaving plenty of room for regional repeater lists, NOAA weather freqs, and CB scan banks without running out of space. The integrated Bluetooth is an unusual inclusion at this price point, useful for pairing wireless speaker-mics if you run it mobile or portable. Feature depth overall is middling relative to comparably priced competitors, but value for money scores exceptionally well.
No water resistance rating is listed, so field use in rain is a real concern. For home monitoring, emergency kit building, or casual VHF/UHF FM operation on a tight budget, the RT-920 makes a defensible case for itself; operators needing IP-rated durability or a full digital mode stack should look elsewhere.

So far I am impressed with the radio, HF reception is not like my Icom 7610 but it's great having a handheld that can receive the HF bands plus transmit on several ham bands. It will do about 3 watts on 6 meter FM, and with the right antenna could work some DX when the band is open. It also transmit...
This is a nice radio. The CPS from RADTEL is clunky to use, but it works with CHIRP for programming. It will take a little planning to get your zones correct, but once you do that, it works very well. I am very pleased with the performance thus far. My hope is they allow you to rename the zones in t...
Easy to program with your Android or Apple phones. Limited memory spaces though. For the money, this is a steal. Battery life is average. Good starter radio. Bluetooth is a game changer, one of the few Ham Radio HT's that have it.
