Nagoya NA-320A (Tri-Band) vs Retevis RHD-771 (SMA-Female)

The Retevis RHD-771 is the better choice for most users. Both are competent dual-band handhelds, but the RHD-771 costs half as much while delivering essentially identical UHF performance and only marginally worse VHF performance.

The critical difference is VHF efficiency. The NA-320A's quarter-wave 146 MHz performance (-0.4 dBi) substantially outperforms the RHD-771's electrically short design (-1.0 dBi), a meaningful 0.6 dB gap on VHF. However, both antennas are compromised on this band. The NA-320A's claimed 3.5 dBi gain is overstated; realistic performance is 2.5 dB lower. The RHD-771's 2.15 dBi claim is closer to reality but still optimistic.

On UHF at 435 MHz, both hit effective 5/8-wave electrical length and deliver identical 2.9 dBi performance. The NA-320A's extra 59 mm of length buys you almost nothing here.

Buy the RHD-771 if you operate primarily on UHF or want a spare antenna without breaking budget. Buy the NA-320A if you work significant VHF repeaters and accept the $11 premium for that modest but real advantage. For balanced dual-band work on a budget, the RHD-771 makes the smarter case.
