TIDRADIO
TIDRADIO TD-771 GMRS (SMA-Female)
This performs essentially the same as the ABBREE AR-771C GMRS at almost the same price, so pick whichever is in stock or matches your radio's brand. Either is a solid, honestly rated GMRS upgrade.
Proprietary RR score
How we scored it
Performance is derived from the antenna's length in wavelengths on each band it covers, not from the advertised gain. How we score →
Length versus wavelength
What 385 mm Buys You
An antenna radiates according to its length measured in wavelengths, not according to the number on the packaging. Here is where this one lands on each band it covers.
| Band | Wavelength | This antenna | Works out as |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMRS465 MHz | 645 mm | 0.60 λ | 5/8 wave |

Tradeoffs
The good and the bad
What we like
- Near-optimal electrical length for the GMRS band, close to 5/8 wave
- Gain claim is conservative and credible
- Cheap, under $10
- Matches TIDRADIO's own handheld line
What we don't
- At over 15 inches, long for everyday carry
- GMRS-only, not a dual-band 2m/70cm antenna

Overview
The TIDRADIO TD-771 GMRS is a 385mm flexible whip with an SMA-Female connector, cut for the 462-467 MHz GMRS band rather than adapted from a 2m/70cm ham design. It is compatible with TIDRADIO's own TD-H3, TD-H8, and TD-H9 handhelds as well as other GMRS radios with SMA-Female jacks, and it sells for about $10.
At 385mm, this whip measures close to 0.60 wavelengths on the GMRS band, just past the half-wave point and into 5/8-wave territory, the strongest length a single element reaches on a handheld with no ground plane. The model puts realistic gain in the high 2 dBi to low 3 dBi range there, which makes the listing's 2.15 dBi claim a conservative, believable number rather than an inflated one. Functionally this is nearly the same antenna as the ABBREE AR-771C GMRS, a few millimeters shorter and a dollar more, so the choice between them mostly comes down to brand matching or availability.
