KSUN HF123D vs Wouxun KG-UV9D Plus

The Wouxun KG-UV9D Plus is the clear winner for most buyers.

The single most important differentiator is owner feedback. The Wouxun has 4.2 stars from 42 reviews, while the KSUN has 3.4 stars from 13 reviews. This means significantly more owners report satisfaction with the Wouxun, giving you better evidence of real-world performance. The Wouxun also lists its 5W transmit power, whereas the KSUN's power output is unknown. Both radios lack DMR, APRS, GPS, and CHIRP support, so neither offers those features.

The KSUN costs $56 versus the Wouxun's $180, which is substantial. However, you're paying for a radio that owners actually report using satisfactorily. The Wouxun's known specifications and heavier review volume from a larger owner base make it the safer choice for anyone who values reliability signals over absolute lowest price.

Buy the KSUN HF123D only if your budget is under $70 and you accept the risk of an unproven option with limited owner feedback. Buy the Wouxun KG-UV9D Plus if you want a handheld radio with demonstrated owner satisfaction and known specifications at a mid-range price point.

Recommendation: Choose the Wouxun unless cost constraints are absolute.
