Overview
This is a straightforward 16-inch (406 mm) dual-band mobile whip on a standard NMO base, wired for 136-174 MHz and 400-470 MHz. NMO means it needs a mount, either a drilled hole, a magnetic NMO puck, or a lip mount; none of that is included, only the antenna itself.
At just under a quarter wave on 2 meters and 0.59 wavelengths on 70 centimeters, close to the practical 5/8-wave optimum, the proportions favor UHF more than VHF. No gain is claimed, so there is no number to check, but the length alone predicts solid 70cm performance and a workmanlike 2m result on a proper ground plane. For $20, that is a fair trade, and the rating backs it up even on a small review base.
